Clergy wellbeing is foundational to flourishing in ministry and life. Research indicates clergy wellbeing includes four core dimensions:
the quality of our daily lives (we feel we have more good days than bad days); Resilience (abilities to respond to challenges and develop new capacities and capabilities); Authenticity
(knowing who we are); and Thriving (a sense of meaning, purpose, and significance). Clergy need life-giving levels in each of these four areas to experience a sense of flourishing in ministry and life. Clergy focused coaching cultivates strategies to achieve and maintain flourishing, even (and especially) in the face of challenges and obstacles.
Pastoral staff teams and church leadership boards, aligned in mission and strategy, foster a spirit of flourishing throughout the entire congregational ecosystem.
